Subaru Impreza WRX STI

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI is the highest ranking standard-edition trim in the Subaru Impreza compact car line, produced by Japanese automaker Subaru. This one particularly comes with better security and better performace features. The car is available for around $33,500.

Engine and Performance

The engine is a 2.5 litre Turbocharged flat-4 horizontally mounted 4 cylinder engine, which produces 293 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 290 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The car is an all wheel drive sedan so power is delivered very efficiently to the wheels. The engine can drive this car from 0~100km/h in less than 5 seconds onto a top speed of 250km/h or 155mph. The car gives you very good mileage as well in the city it'll do 19 mpg and on the highway it'll do 25 mpg.

Technology:

The Subaru Active Valve Control System (AVCS) variable valve timing technology helps provide strong torque characteristics throughout the engine’s operating range. The turbocharger produces 14.5 psi of maximum boost compared to 13.5 in the standard WRX. The large capacity intercooler uses a manually operated water spray feature to enhance intercooler efficiency during high-performance driving.

Power is transferred to all four wheels by a sophisticated Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) to optimize performance in all conditions.

Styling:

This Subaru Impreza draws technology directly from its World Rally Championship subsidiary which are capable of extreme performance in extreme conditions. In its exterior design, Impreza WRX STI leaves no doubts about its performance potential. The scoop in the aluminum hood feeds outside air to an intercooler that is significantly larger than the intercooler used on WRX models. The dual-plane rear spoiler – which appears to be borrowed directly from the Impreza World Rally Car – helps reduce lift and improve stability at track speeds.
