Honda S2000

The Honda S2000 is a two door convertible hot roadster manufactured by the Japanese automaker Honda Motor Company. Launched in April 1999, the car was created to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. Prices in the United States start at $34,250.


Continuing in the tradition of its predecessors, the S2000 features a front-mid-engine, rear wheel drive layout with power being delivered via a limited slip differential mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The S2000 comes with an electrically powered cloth top.


Engine And Performance:

The car comes with a 2 litre DOHC-VTEC engine capable of extreme rpm, while other cars in its class are limited at 6,000 rpm this car has 3,000 more to go, that means the rpm limiter for this car is 9,000 rpm which gives you extra kick and thrill. The engine produces 243 horse power which enables the car go from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 secs. Also accompanying the great engine is great weight distribution, and ultra low ratio 6 speed manual transmission which lets you enjoy the car to your limit.

The car is great even when driving inter city giving you a mileage of around 22 mpg. Which is also better than any other car in its class.


This car ranked number 1 in top gear's survey of 2004, 2005 and 2006. Host Jeremy Clarkson even put the car above Porsche Boxter and BMW Z4. And elaborated and praised this car's amazing engine performance and that this had a 9,000 rpm red line.

Also the S2000 was on Car and Driver's Ten Best list for 2000 through 2002 and 2004. This car's engine won the International Engine of the Year award in the "1.8 to 2 litre" size category for five years from 2000 through 2004. And was also featured on Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2000 and 2001.




The S2000 was the highest-ranked model in the J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study "Premium Sports Car" class for 2004 and 2006, and has consistently held one of the top three positions.
